Ask Oka about his Lovina tour, taking you up through the central mountains and over to Bali’s rugged north coast. Leaving Ubud at 8:30am you’ll stop first at Mengwi, home of the Taman Ayun Temple, former home of the king of the Mengwi Empire. From there you’ll drive north into the mountains and the mountain lake resort area of Bedugul. Stop for photos and viewing of one of Bali’s most famous icons, Pura Bratan, undoubtedly one of the most photographed sites on the island on the edge of Lake Beratan.

The popular Gitgit waterfall is your next destination, on Bali’s north coast. This is a great place to refresh and get a snack before continuing on your journey. Next you’ll visit the beach area at Lovina, known regionally as a hot spot for viewing the pods of wild dolphins who swim great distances along the north coast in their daily search for food.

Upon leaving the north coast you’ll drive back into the north coast mountains to the holy Banjar Hot Springs¬†where the more adventurous can jump into the temple pools for a soothing dip as the hot water pours from the mouths of the ornately carved dragon statues lining the main pool. The restaurant here has WIFI if you need to check in with your group.

From Banjar you’ll drive east into the Munduk area mountains to visit a Balinese coffee plantation and view sweeping vistas of north shore rice terraces. Nearing the end of the tour in the late afternoon, feel free to Ask Oka about adding optional activities for the way home such as the Eka Karya Botanic Garden in Bedugul or the holy Sangeh Monkey Forest in some amazing old-growth Indonesian tropical forest.
